Joh 5:18
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.

Q - If Jesus disobeyed the Sabbath commandment then why do some Christians say we are still obligated to keep it?
A - Jesus did not break the Sabbath. The Pharisees had added many additional requirments to the Sabbath law such as not healing the sick on the Sabbath. Jesus did not brake God's Sabbath law but some of the foolish Sabbath rules that the Pharisees had invented. (Mat 5:18) For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
